Healthy formulation: Enhancing texture, flavour and mouthfeel

Consumers in APAC increasingly say they want healthier options, but equally they are not willing to compromise on flavour, texture and mouthfeel. In this edition, we'll be assessing the latest innovations across a whole host of categories, from healthy snacking to functional foods, and bakery to plant-based NPD to examine how the industry can formulate, reformulate and fortify to create better-for-you products that simultaneously appeal to the senses.

Naturally good: Clean label and natural colours innovation

Clean label is rapidly becoming an expectation among a sizeable swathe of APAC consumers who demand minimally processed products with transparent label claims. But from a technical perspective, this is often easier said than done. That's why we'll be shining the spotlight on the companies that are innovating to create effective clean label solutions, that don't compromise on taste across a whole host of categories. On a similar theme, Asia is rapidly catching-up when it comes to the adoption of natural colours and even colouring foods – both from a consumer and regulatory perspective. We'll be analysing the categories propelling this growth, and asking how new solutions can meet the region's ever evolving landscape.

'Better-for-you' beverages: From functionality to sugar reduction

From less sugar, to added functionality, and local ingredient innovation to limited editions, Asia's beverage industry is increasingly innovating and diversifying to deliver growth. As some consumers shy away from beverages that are perceived to be unhealthy, we'll be shining the spotlight on the companies that are creating more functional products, beverages with reduced sugar, and those appealing to growing demands for natural products, as well as drinks that aid active lifestyles.
