Ywe Franken has a master's degree in tropical agronomic engineering from Wageningen University. He started professional career in bioenergy, setting up bioethanol, biogas and electricity production systems for communities and SME’s in Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia. Since 10 years he is working in cocoa sustainability, having joined Tony’s Chocolonely in 2018. In his current role of serious farming accelerator he is responsible for Tony’s cocoa productivity program, and Ywe has started cocoa first mile traceability, (agro)forestry and advanced cocoa living income reference price setting at Tony's.
