Andreas Oeschger specializes in the intersection of international trade and environmental and social sustainability. Prior to his position at IISD, Andreas was also an associate at the Embassy of Switzerland in Washington, D.C., regional co-head of the Swiss foreign policy thinktank ‘foraus’ and a teaching assistant at the University of Zurich. Andreas has conducted research on trade policy approaches to reduce deforestation and has previously worked on consultancy projects on sustainability provisions in trade agreements for both the WTO and the ILO. He holds an M.A. in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
