Oliver Vince is a co-founder of Basecamp Research. The company's inception began on the ‘Return to Vatnajokull’ ski expedition led by Oliver and his co-founder Glen which retraced a 1932 route. Living on the Icelandic ice cap for a whole month, they became the first to conduct fully off-grid DNA sequencing in a polar environment, opening up entirely new avenues to explore novel biodiversity at the genetic level. Oliver has a PhD in biomedical engineering from the University of Oxford.
