Franziska studied law in Heidelberg, London and Berlin and did a PhD at the World Trade Institute at the University of Berne. She practised as a lawyer in the field of labour, media, and competition law.
In 2004, she joined Oxfam and now works there as a senior policy advisor on business and human rights. She has also been teaching international economic law at the University of Zurich and is currently teaching a course on corporate social responsibility at the Leuphana University in Lüneburg.
